E3 2011 wrap-up: Wii U, PS Vita, and a whole lot of motion gaming

E3 2011 wrap-up: Wii U, PS Vita, and a whole lot of motion gaming
This year's Electronics Entertainment Expo was pretty amazing, featuring plenty of fresh new hardware and some... innovative titles for serious consoles. Sony renamed its NGP to PlayStation Vita, while Nintendo unveiled its Wii successor, designated only by an extra vowel: U. Despite the (now even more) goofy name, the Wii U stole the show, its 6.2-inch touchscreen controller opening the door to a world of potentially awesome games -- and to what will surely be a whole new generation of shovelware. The show may be over, but the our coverage still burns -- just like our hearts after one last night at Daikokuya.

iPhone 5 To Have 12.6 Megapixel Camera with 1080p Video Recording

If you are looking forward to the release of the new iPhone 5 you are going to want to read this post. OmniVision who supplied Apple with the back camera sensor for the iPhone 4 has produced new sensors called OV12825 for cameras on upcoming smartphones.

The company will start production on these new sensors in early June and they are going to offer at least 12.6 megapixel resolution and 1080p video recording. No one has of yet ordered these new sensors but because of the fact that Apple have previously used OmniVision sensors these could be just the thing for the brand new iPhone 5.

There are some rumours circulating that Apple are going to stop using OmniVision and move to Sony but these are unconfirmed as yet. The iPhone 4 uses OmniVision sensors so Apple may just decide to stick with them and if they do the iPhone 5 could be every photographers dream phone. Again we have to wait and see what will be officially confirmed but this all sounds like good news so far.

iSlate, iPad or iTablet would be based on iPhone OS

McGraw-Hill's CEO confirmed that the new Tablet device from Apple would be based on iPhone OS. That's a big relief for all developers on iPhone and iPod Touch who would be able to continue work on the SDK and release on both platforms.

Apparently, the iTablet will have the iPhone OS 3.2 as a start, let's see tonight for the official launch!!!
