After we reported that the Cupertino, California-based Apple already patched up the Chronic Dev Team?s SHAtter bootrom exploit and GeoHot?s hardware based exploit (which include Greenpois0n, Sn0wbreeze, and Limera1n) on the recently released iPad by updating the hardware used in the new version of tablet you may be wondering ?if the iPhone jailbreak community will be able to jailbreak iPad 2? on iOS 4.3. Well, the good news is two iPhone hacker successfully jailbroken iPad 2 on iOS 4.3, both tethered and untethered jailbreak.
Notorious iPhone hacker and member of the iPhone Dev Team that goes under the name Comex as well as an iPhone security specialist and hacker named Stefan Esser (also known as i0nic) has just announced that they already jailbroken the iPad 2 and soon will release their own jailbreak method to the public to jailbreak iOS 4.3.
For those of you who aren?t aware, Comex is the main developer and hacker behind the userland based Spirit and JailbreakMe. On the other hand, Stefan Esser is the developer of the antid0te iPhone Security addons for jailbroken iOS iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
At the moment, we are still waiting for Comex to announce the ETA for his tethered jailbreak method. However, Esser already announced that they will release the final version of their untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3 before the next weekend ?and after they iron out some bugs and glitches. Here is what he said:
