Relive 1975 By Remixing David Bowie?s Golden Years on iOS

David BowieFan of David Bowie but you have always felt like you could have produced one of his classic singles better than they did at the time? Soon you?ll get you chance, as Bowie?s 1975 single Golden Years arrives on iOS in early June.

MusicRadar is reporting that last year?s Remix David Bowie - Space Oddity iOS app is getting a followup come June 6 in the form of the 1975 single Golden Years, allowing the user to remix eight of the original 16 tracks to their heart?s content.

?Bounced down from the original 16-track recording, these were prepared by Golden Years and Station To Station (its parent album) producer Harry Maslin,? MusicRadar reveals.

The Golden Years app will include eight music stem files: David Bowie?s lead vocal, 12-string guitar, bass, drums, guitar, harmonium, percussion (including blocks, congas and claps) and backing vocals.

In addition to a multitrack view of the original song, you?ll be able to activate or deactivate any or all of the stem tracks, change their individual volume, create and save your own mix (and then export it as an MP3), play/pause/repeat buttons, a ?shake to mix? feature to get a random mix with the shake of your iPhone and of course, the ability to share your new creation with friends.

To accompany the Golden Years iOS app, there will also be a new EP available on CD, 12-inch vinyl and via digital download, including the original single as well as four brand-new mixes created by KCRW DJs Jeremy Sole, Anthony Valadex, Eric J. Lawrence and Chris Douridas.

No word on pricing (Bowie?s Space Oddity app is $1.99, for reference) but check the App Store on June 6 to grab your copy.
